Australia Day Holiday

While we celebrate Australia Day, there will be NO Group Classes on either Sunday the 26th, nor Monday the 27th of January.

Did you know that one of the most important events in our History – a military coup de’tat – occurred on January 26th, 1808? When in true Aussie style, the NSW Corps marched to Government House in full military uniform, bearing their Colours, accompanied by a marching band, to arrest Governor Bligh. This resulted in Bligh being deposed and a military officer – Lt. Col Johnson – taking over running the colony. The Corp were also somewhat drunk, and surrounded by a cheering and dancing crowd – so more of a party than any true military action! No-one got hurt, everyone – except Bligh – had a good time! Happy Coup De’tat Day!
